We recently received an anonymous message pressing us for information about the connection between Team-O and Cirque Du Soleil’s “O.” Firstly, what is “O”? According to their website:
Cirque du Soleil weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance in the timeless production, "O." Inspired by the concept of infinity and the elegance of water's pure form, "O" pays tribute to the beauty of the theatre - from the simplest street performance to the most lavish of operas - where anything is possible and where the drama of life plays itself out before our very eyes. World-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters perform in, on, and above water to create a breathtaking experience. Only at Bellagio, Las Vegas.
So now, we’d like to stomp-out all those rumors and set the record straight: We hereby confirm that “O” may or may not be the artistic expression of a splinter group of Team-O knights, who decades ago, pressed for all Team-O sports to revolve around water (I’m sure that the ever-so-fabulous Mary Cross My Heart could recall all the details of those heated debates).
But as with most things surrounding Team-O, ultimately you need to decide for yourself: Are there enough unmistakably Team-O elements in “O”, which prove beyond a sliver of doubt, that “O” is in fact an expression of Team-O itself? Watch closely now!
